Women's Soccer Releases 2021 Schedule

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team announced its 2020-21 schedule on Monday afternoon.

FDU will play seven road games and four games at University Stadium. The Knights are set to play three non-conference road games and eight conference games.

"I think it is safe to say that both our players and our coaching staff are extremely excited to finally get back on the fields for our season," said head coach Eric Teepe. "After a great run last year, I know the team is looking to try and take that next step forward."

The Burgundy and Blue enter the 2021 campaign after a great season in which they reached the NEC Championship Game. The Knights went undefeated in conference play with a 7-0-3 record and sent Bryant home with a win in the NEC Semifinal.

FDU will open the new season on Sunday, February 14 when they travel to Seton Hall at 3:00 p.m. The Knights are 1-3 all-time against the Pirates and the teams last met in 2010. The Burgundy and Blue will play again on Wednesday, February 17 when they travel to Fordham with a 3:00 p.m. start time. The Knights beat the Rams the lone time the teams met in 2003. FDU will round out non-conference play against Hofstra on Saturday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. Hofstra edged the Knights 2-1 last year.

The NEC announced that only the top two teams in the conference will play for the Championship the week of April 12-18 opposed to the four teams that usually get into the NEC Tournament. Games will be played on Tuesday's and Friday's during the regular season.

The Knights will begin conference action at home on Tuesday, March 2 against Sacred Heart. The Burgundy and Blue beat Sacred Heart 3-0 last season. FDU will then travel to Wagner on Tuesday, March 9. When the two teams met a year ago, they drew in double overtime.

FDU will then return home for a pair of home games on Tuesday, March 16 and Friday, March 19 against St. Francis Brooklyn and Merrimack. Both those teams joined the NEC last year and the Knights beat both teams for the first time in program history.

The Burgundy and Blue will finish conference play with three of four games coming on the road. The first will be a road game at Central Connecticut State on Tuesday, March 23. FDU split with CCSU last year, but the Blue Devils topped the Knights 1-0 in the NEC Championship. The Knights will then travel to Mount St. Mary's on Friday, April 2, a team in which FDU beat on Senior Day last season.

The final two games of the regular season will be home against LIU on Tuesday, April 6 and on the road on Tuesday, April 13 against Bryant, who FDU beat 2-0 in the NEC Semifinals last season.

"I know it will be an interesting year as all of us in the NEC are getting back on the fields after 18 months, so we know it will take some time to get up to speed. It will be important to try to try and do that as soon as possible and having our non-conference the likes of Hofstra, Seton Hall, and Fordham will hopefully help us in that preparation."
