TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team set for NEC road contests against Saint Francis U and Robert Morris over the weekend. The Knights will take on Saint Francis U at 3 p.m., in Loretto, Pa. on Friday, and then on Sunday, FDU travels to Moon Township, Pa., to face Robert Morris at 4 p.m.
The Burgundy and Blue are 5-5-3 with a 4-0-0 record in the NEC. The Knights are currently in first place in the conference with 12 points. FDU has started conference play with wins over LIU, Merrimack, Central Connecticut State and Sacred Heart.
The Knights handed CCSU and Sacred Heart their first conference losses last week. The Burgundy and Blue opened last week with a thrilling 1-0 double overtime victory over CCSU. Junior

Amanda Fitzgerald recorded six saves and prevented more CCSU shots with diving plays on the ball. The Burgundy and Blue ended the week with a 3-0 win against Sacred Heart. Sophomores

Fitzgerald shattered the all-time career shutout record over the weekend with her 15th in the win over Sacred Heart. The senior was recognized as the NEC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on October 8. Fitzgerald also earned the conference recognition on September 10 and September 24. She recorded 11 saves and didn't allow a goal over the weekend. In the Knights four conference contests, the senior has only allowed one goal and has posted a goals-against average of 0.25. On the season, Fitzgerald has recorded 64 saves, a save percentage of 0.842, and a goals-against average of 0.96.
The Knights defense has only allowed an average of 1.15 goals and 15.8 shots per game. Senior

Christa Waterman have started every match they have played in this season for the backline. Roff and Waterman have each netted game-winners in NEC matches season as well. Senior

FDU's offense has scored two or more goals in three of its past five contests, which has helped raise the season goals average to 1.46 and 14.5 shots per game. Skansberg was named NEC Co-Rookie of the Week on October 8 after her one goal and assist in the 3-0 win against Sacred Heart. The freshman leads the team in points with nine and has recorded three goals and three assists. Sophomore
Lea Egner is second on the team with eight points and leads the squad with 28 shots.
Juniors
Sofia Albertsson and
Alexiane Marquis are tied for third on the team with five points. Marquis has dished out three assists on the year, including two of the past three NEC contests. Robbins, Waterman and Miseljic have all scored four points so far this year. Six other Knights have recorded at least two points and 13 FDU players in total have scored this season.
Saint Francis U (4-6-2, 3-1-0 NEC) enters Friday's match having won three of its past four contests. The Knights and Red Flash have each gone down to the wire as each of the past four matches have gone to overtime. SFU offense has averaged 1.55 goals per night led by senior Alyssa McGhee who has a team-leading five goals and 12 points. McGhee was named NEC Player of the Week on October 8 for her efforts in wins over LIU and Wagner. Junior Dakota Graham has dished out five assists and netted a goal as well for the Red Flash.
Senior goalie Julia Hernan has started 11 games in net for SFU and has recorded 47 saves. Hernan has also posted a goals allowed average of 2.43 per night and recorded a shutout against LIU.
The Knights will close out the week with a match against Robert Morris (4-7-1, 2-2-0 NEC) on Sunday afternoon. FDU has won three out of the past five matches with RMU, including a 3-1 win last season with goals from Miseljic and sophomore
Noam Kedem. The Colonials offense is led by freshman Sheridan Reid who leads the team in goals with four and points with nine. Fellow freshman Kayla Veloso-Lima is second on the roster with three goals and eight points. As a unit, the Colonials average 1.17 goals per night.
Defensively, Robert Morris allows 1.33 goals per game and junior Sydney Bruckner has started all 12 games in net. Bruckner has posted a goals against average of 1.29 per night. The junior also has recorded 79 saves and owns a season save percentage of .840.
Following the Robert Morris game, the Knights will host NEC opponent Bryant at University Stadium on Sunday afternoon starting at 12 p.m.
