Knights Hire Reffsin as New Strength and Conditioning Coach

HACKENSACK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson University Director of Athletics David Langford has announced the hiring of Sam Reffsin as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University.

Reffsin arrives at FDU after spending last year at the University of Louisville as a Sports Performance Coach where he designed and implemented performance programs for the men's and women's diving and men's tennis programs.  With the Cardinals, Reffsin also assisted in all training sessions with women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and men's golf.

"I'm beyond excited to be leading the Strength and Conditioning department at Fairleigh Dickinson University and have an immediate impact on each student athlete," said Reffsin. "Without the quality mentors in my past positions this would never be possible.  It's time to put the hard hat on and go to work!"

Prior to working at Louisville, Reffsin served as a graduate assistant at Sacred Heart University where he was responsible for all aspects of strength and conditioning for the baseball, women's soccer, men's volleyball, women's swimming, and cheerleading programs.  He also assisted with every football and men's basketball training session.

Reffsin also once held the position, Director of Performance at Athercare where he led all aspects of performance and rehabilitation. He also interned with Webber International University and Northeastern University. Coach Reffsin is certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a CSCS and through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association as an SCCC.

A Massachusetts native, Reffsin graduated from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, and in 2016 with a Master's Degree in Exercise Science & Nutrition from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
