HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team will look to win its fifth straight game when Northeast Conference preseason favorite Central Connecticut comes to University Stadium on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Knights opened the Northeast Conference portion of the schedule with two wins versus Mount St. Mary's (3-0) and at Sacred Heart (4-2). It is the third straight year the Knights have opened NEC play 2-0. Fairleigh Dickinson has not started 3-0 in NEC play since starting 4-0 back in 2004.

Fairleigh Dickinson also sports the reigning NEC Player of the Week-Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central)-and Rookie of the Week-Elma Kolenovic (Manhattan, N.Y./NYC Lab). Hoekstra was won the award in back-to-back weeks and three times this season. Kolenovic has also taken home Rookie of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks.

The Knights have three wins compared to 12 losses versus the Blue Devils all-time. Central Connecticut shutout Fairleigh Dickinson twice last season, with the second one came in the NEC Title Game (2-0). The Knights last won against the Blue Devils back in 2013 at home 1-0.

Central Connecticut opened NEC play with a 5-1 win over LIU Brooklyn on Sunday. Five different Blue Devils scored on the afternoon. So far this season Delaney Lancor leads Central Connecticut in points with eight (3g, 2a). Emma Hubbard is second on the team in points with seven (3g, 1a). Nicki Turley has started seven on the nine games in goal for Central Connecticut. The junior has posted a 1.31 GAA and a .809 save percentage.

Fairleigh Dickinson will be looking to extend its home winning streak to six. The five straight wins are a new program record at home. The Knights have also won four straight and will look to make it five in a row which will tie a program record.

The friendly confines of University Stadium have helped the Knights backline. The Knights have surrendered just 0.50 goals per game at home this season.

The Knights have found the back of the net the most in the NEC with 27 goals (2.08 per game) so far this season. The Blue Devils rank second with 17.

Hoekstra leads the Knights in goals (10) and points (22) this season. Senior Carly Tice (Highland Falls, N.Y./James I. O'Neill) is right behind her with 21 points (8g, 5a). The tandem is first and second respectively in the NEC in points. Hoekstra is tied for 12th nationally in goals and 18th in points. Tice is t-30 in goals and t-22 in points.

Tice is second in the NEC in assists with five and Kolenovic ranks fourth in NEC in assists with four this season.

During the Knights four-game winning streak, they have surrendered three goals and have recorded two shutouts. That is compared to giving up six goals in the three games prior to the current run.
