TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team (9-3-0, 2-0 NEC) continues its Northeast Conference schedule this weekend with a trip up to Central Connecticut (4-4-3, 0-1-1 NEC) on Friday, Oct. 10, before returning home to host Robert Morris (2-9-2, 0-1-1 NEC) on Sunday, Oct. 12. Kickoffs are set for 7 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively, and both matches will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.

Last Time Out
Last weekend, FDU opened NEC play with victories at Mount St. Mary's, 3-0, and over LIU Brooklyn, 2-1, at home, which extended the team's current winning streak to five matches. The win over Mount was the team's sixth shutout of the season and included Katey Arathoon (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's )'s first goal of the season, the game winner, and Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central )'s record-tying ninth of the campaign. Sunday's contest was a rematch of last year's NEC Tournament semifinals when the Blackbirds found a late golden goal to send the Knights home. This time down 1-0 in the 75th minute, Amanda Goulet (Quebec City, Quebec/Shattuck-St. Mary's ) struck from distance off a feed from Carly Tice (Highland Falls, N.Y./James I. O'Neill ), before Hoekstra found the back of the net just 10 seconds from the end of regulation. It was the third instance in which the Knights have snatched victory after falling behind, and it was also the redshirt sophomore's 10th goal of the season, a new program record. For her efforts, Hoekstra garnered her second straight NEC Player of the Week award and third overall.

What You Need To Know:  The Colonials are 1-4-0 on the road, which is better than a winless record at home. Moon Township native Antonia Grese leads the team with three goals, while juniors Kristie Hamilton and Madison Kozlowski each have two goals and two assists. Senior goalkeeper Becky Schoenecker has been fantastic in 12 appearances, with a 1.05 goals against average and 56 saves. Head Coach John Kowalski has had a storied career. He was formerly the head of the Robert Morris men's soccer program from 1989-96, and in between, he coached the U.S. Men's National Futsal to a second-place finish at the 1992 FIFA World Championships, the highest finish by a U.S. men's team at a FIFA sanctioned event. Kowalski also served as interim head coach of the U.S. national team in 1991, putting together a 1-1-1 record, before Bora Milutinovic took the reins. The Polish international also coached the now-defunct MLS club Tampa Bay Mutiny from 1997-98 and finished second in the Eastern Conference with a team that included Carlos Valderrama, Steve Ralston, Frankie Hejduk, Frank Yallop, and Roy Lassiter.
