HACKENSACK, N.J. – For the first time since 2007, the Fairleigh Dickinson women's fencing team will host an event at Stratis Arena with the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m. The Knights (3-4) will square off with Lafayette, while looking to even its record in Head Coach Christian Rivera's first season.

FDU will compete for the third time this year after kicking off the season at the Temple Open in Philadelphia on Oct. 27 before competing in the Sacred Heart Invitational in Fairfield, Conn. on Nov. 11.

Junior Hanna Heldenmuth (Miami, Fla./Keystone National) had a breakout performance at the 33rd annual Temple Open with FDU's top finish of 11th in sabre. The Knights were also boosted by top 20 performances by senior Christine Forsythe (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown), who took 17th in epee, and sabreists Kathryn Heaney (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) in 19th and Sophia Bischof (Bonn, Germany/Albert Einstein Gymnasium) in 20th.

At Sacred Heart, the Burgundy and Blue scored wins over Wellesley, Army and Tufts, while Bischof went 12-2 in sabre to lead the team's efforts on the day.

The Leopards competed for the first time on Nov. 19 at home at the Kirby Sports Center in Easton, Pa. going 2-3 on the day. Lafayette defeated Yeshiva and Drew but fell to Rutgers, NJIT and Army. The Leopards' foil squad has proven to be a strength with senior Lisa DeJoseph and sophomore Makenzie Danis both putting together 13-2 records in the first competition.

Lafayette also had three other fencers, Colleen Way (foil), Allison Reich (epee) and Leah Haydne (Sabre) post 9-6 marks at the Nov. 19 event.

Following Friday's action, the Knights will travel to Jersey City, N.J. to take part in the NIWFA Christmas Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 2.
