Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer standout Rachel Hoekstra was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday, Sept. 8

The redshirt sophomore was the lone Knight to score two goals in Friday's historic 8-0 defeat of Saint Peter's during the 2014 home opener on Sept. 5. She now has three goals over her first five contests.

The 2012 First Team All-NEC selection and Rookie of the Year scored her first goal after being fed into the box by junior Amanda Goulet, with a low, right-footed shot under the Peacocks' goalkeeper. Her next effort was spectacular - a left-footed curler 25 yards out from the left side of the field into the bottom right corner.

With the brace, Hoekstra now has 12 career goals and has moved into a three-way tie for sixth all-time in program history.
