Reiner is in the middle of a historic season for the softball team, as she has led her squad to their first-ever Northeast Conference Tournament, which will start on Thursday, May 8. She is currently 15-7 on the season with a 1.66 ERA. She has started 21 games in the circle, completing 17 of her starts, while recording three shutouts. Reiner has recorded 160 strikeouts in 143 innings and needs 10 more to break her own strikeout record that she set in 2012 as a freshman with 170. Six times this year she has recorded at least 10 strikeouts, including a season-high 11 on four different occasions. In 14 starts this season, Reiner has fanned at least seven. She even came out of the bullpen to record a save earlier in the year. This past weekend when her team needed her most, Reiner pitched two complete games, including a 1-0 shutout followed by a 10-inning performance in a 9-4 victory. In the doubleheader sweep over Saint Francis University, she struck out 18, walked just three and allowed only two earned runs in 17.0 innings.
