Fairleigh Dickinson softball standout Liz Woidt was named Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Monday, May 5.
Woidt hit safely in all four games this weekend, with three being the multi-hit variety en route to a .533 clip (8-for-15) and a whopping slugging percentage of .933. The redshirt senior made her final conference weekend in regular a season play a memorable one, as she hit two game-winning home runs on Saturday against Saint Francis to help sweep the doubleheader and clinch the Knights first-ever berth in the NEC Tournament. Woidt's solo home run was the difference in game one against the Red Flash in the 1-0 victory. She also collected two hits in the game. In the top of the 10th inning of the nightcap and with two outs, she hit the go-ahead two-run homer to put FDU up 6-4, before her teammates tacked on three more insurance runs for a comfortable lead. Woidt would go 3-for-5 with two runs, three RBI and a stolen base in game two. Woidt added three more hits against Robert Morris, including a 2-for-4, one-run effort in the second game.
