reshman Niclas Pietsch was named Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. Pietsch is the first dual honoree this season.

Pietsch earns the honor after winning all three of his #1 singles matches last week and posting a 2-1 mark at #1 doubles with classmate Andris Gudins. Pietsch downed Sacred Heart's Seiji Hosokowa, 6-4, 7-5, last Thursday to help boost the Knights to a 6-1 win over their conference rivals.

Following a 6-1, 7-6 victory over Andres Jacome of Saint Peter's the following afternoon, the Berlin, Germany native outlasted Dylan Walters in three sets on Sunday, securing a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win over the Wagner sophomore. Pietsch leads FDU with 14 wins on the season.
