Knights Earn #15 Seed; Will Face #2 Iowa in NCAA Tournament

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU is heading back to the NCAA Women's Basketball Championships for a second-straight year. After the brackets were revealed, the Knights learned they had earned a #15 seed and will head to #2 Iowa in the round of 64. FDU landed in the Sacramento Region, while their first-round game will take place in Iowa City.

The Knights defeated LIU in the NEC Championship by a score of 79-57 in Hackensack on Sunday. FDU finishes the year undefeated against NEC opponents for a second-consecutive season, joining only UConn to accomplish that feat. Ava Renninger was named Tournament MVP.  As back-to-back champions, the Knights have won 40 straight games in league play and are currently riding a 22-game winning streak.

Iowa, out of the Big Ten, finished the season with a 26-6 record. They finished 15-3 in conference and went on to reach the Big Ten Tournament Championship. This is their 32nd March Madness appearance.

FDU and Iowa met on November 6, 2023. It marked FDU Head Coach Stephanie Gaitley's first game leading the Knights.
