SAN DIEGO, Cali. – FDU women's lacrosse (0-2, 0-0) took on San Diego State (1-1, 0-0) in the program's first-ever game on the West Coast. The Knights fell 15-5 under the lights at Aztec Field.
Nora Codianni recorded the tenth multi-goal game of her career in the loss. The junior scored twice for FDU, caused a turnover and won three draw controls. She has scored ten goals in her last four games dating back to last season.
Also hitting the scoring column was
Brielle McInaw, whose fourth quarter goal marked the 100
th point of her career. FDU's senior is one of two Knights to hit the century mark in career points.
San Diego State scored the game's first four goals and built an 8-1 lead by halftime. The Knights' best minutes stretched from the third to the fourth quarter when they recorded three unanswered goals.
Mia Layne scored the middle goal of this spurt, giving her goals in the first two games of her career.
The Knights held their own in the center circle, taking seven of 17 draw controls. FDU was also a perfect 7-7 on clears.
