JACKSONVILLE, FL – FDU men's and women's track and field wrapped up the 2025 outdoor season on Friday at the NCAA East Regionals. The Knights sent two competitors to Jacksonville,
Nilaja Wiltshire and
Ethan Ruffin.
Wiltshire competed in the women's shot put at the Regionals for the second season in a row. Wiltshire threw for a distance of 15.48m, placing 26th. Wiltshire's distance was a major improvement from her freshman campaign, as she placed 14 spots higher than she did at the 2024 regional.
Ethan Ruffin competed on behalf of FDU in the men's high jump. Ruffin tied for 26th with a height of 2.05m.
Wiltshire and Ruffin both fell short of qualifying for the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
The two underclassmen each finished stellar seasons on Friday afternoon. Both Wiltshire and Ruffin were named to the All-NEC First Team for their outdoor efforts. Wiltshire was named the NEC's Most Outstanding Thrower, and Ruffin was named the Co-Most Outstanding Jumper. Ruffin was also named to the NEC's All-Rookie Team.
