Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Falls at Saint Francis, 13-11

LORETTO, Pa. – A competitive matchup between FDU (3-9, 2-3) and Saint Francis U (3-8, 2-3) ended 13-11 in favor of the Red Flash on Saturday afternoon in Loretto. FDU, SFU and Le Moyne all sit tied for the final playoff spot in the NEC with four games remaining.

The game started well for the Knights, who jumped out to a 3-0 lead. However, that was just the beginning of the scoring in the first period. The Red Flash found their footing and answered back quickly. At the end of the opening 15 minutes, FDU led 5-4.

The second quarter produced less offense, but the game remained tight. Nora Codianni scored two goals in the period. One of which gave the Knights a 7-6 lead with 38 seconds remaining in the half. The Red Flash found an equalizing goal with just six seconds on the clock.

SFU outscored FDU 5-1 in the third and led 12-8 heading into the final frame.

The Knights scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to pull within two, but SFU continued to tighten things up defensively. FDU had a free position shot stopped with three minutes left that would have brought them to within one. The Red Flash came down the field and cashed in an insurance goal, which made the score 13-10. Riley Eaton did respond with a tally less than a minute later, but the Knights' comeback fell short.

Eaton continued her hot streak offensively. She led the team with four goals and has scored 11 total goals over the last four games.

Five Knights accounted for the other seven goals, with Karly Dillabough and Codianni recording two each. Dillabough has scored in eight-straight games and leads the team with 23 goals.

Two other streaks were extended by FDU, as well. Brielle McInaw extended her goal-streak to five games. Freshman Adriana Mavlios recorded a goal and an assist to stretch her point-streak to nine games.

Goalkeeper Skylar Goodman matched her season-high with 13 saves.
