DOVER, DE – FDU women's lacrosse (4-11, 3-5) defeated Delaware State (1-13, 0-8) by a score of 13-5 on Saturday evening.
Nora Codianni and
Riley Eaton were exceptional in the winning effort, scoring four goals apiece to lead the way. Codianni set a season-high with her four goals, and Eaton matched a season-high.
Delaware State began the match strong, taking a quick 2-1 lead. Facing a deficit, FDU proceeded to come alive in the final stages of the first period. The Knights erupted, scoring four goals in the final four minutes of the frame, including a buzzer beater by Adrianna Mavlios to cap the quarter.
The Knights took a 5-2 lead into the second and continued cooking.
Brielle McInaw and Eaton each found the back of the net in the first four minutes of the second, and FDU began to cruise. Another goal from Eaton in the final minute of the half sent FDU into the break with an impressive 9-4 lead.
FDU's defense shut down the Hornet attack in the second half. Delaware State was able to score just one goal in the half, coming at the nine minute mark of the third period.
Skylar Goodman and the Knight defense completely neutralized the attack from that point on, holding the Hornets scoreless through the final 24 minutes of regulation. Goodman was stellar as well in the win, saving 12 shots to anchor the defense.
Codianni and Eaton each scored a pair of goals to pad FDU's lead in the second half, capping off their stellar evening. The Knights finished remarkably efficient on the offensive end. The offense scored their 13 goals on just 14 shots on goal.

FDU will be back at home for the final match of their 2025 regular season when they face CCSU on April 26. First draw control will be at University Stadium in Teaneck, N.J. at 12:00 p.m. Coverage will be available on NEC Front Row.
