Ekoko, Wiltshire Take Home NEC Weekly Honors

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The Northeast Conference announced Tuesday their weekly awards for the indoor track and field season. FDU men's and women's track and field was well represented this week, with two Knights taking home honors.

Nilaja Wiltshire picked up her fifth NEC Field Athlete of the Week award on the women's side. On the men's side, Jayden Ekoko took home two awards, winning the NEC Field Athlete of the Week award, as well as the Rookie of the Week award.

Wiltshire picks up her fifth honor in as many meets, adding to a dominant 2024-25 campaign. The Phillipsburg, N.J. native adds the award to her resume following another strong showing, this week at the 2025 Mets Indoor Championships. Wiltshire won the weight throw with a personal best distance of 17.16m. She also placed second in the shot put with a distance of 14.26m. Wiltshire's strong performance helped the FDU women take third place in the meet.

Ekoko picks up two separate honors following a ridiculous weekend at the same meet. Ekoko set personal bests in all three events he competed in, helping the FDU men take fourth place in the Mets. The freshman won the triple jump with a distance of 14.44m. He also placed third in the long jump with a distance of 6.91m, and fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.94m.

Ekoko and Wiltshire were also both named NEC Prime Peformers for their strong weekends.

The Knights will look to ride momentum into the upcoming NEC Championships, which will be held February 16 and 17.
