BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU sophomores Ethan Ruffin and Chase Lopez both were honored in the NEC's weekly release, as Lopez was named as the conference's Track Athlete of the Week, and Ruffin was honored as the Men's Field Athlete of the Week. 

With this week's honor, this marks the sixth time Ethan Ruffin has won the award in just this season alone. Ruffin has cemented himself as the top high-jumper in the NEC as well as one of the best in the Northeast region. Ruffin was just .01 meters away from a personal best jump on his way to winning the IC4A Championship in the Men's High Jump with a leap of 2.16 meters. 

Ruffin's best mark of 2.17 meters is the best in the NEC, and still in the top 16 in the East Region, for the moment qualifying the sophomore for the NCAA East Regionals, which will take place at the end of May. 

Lopez has been honored with the Men's Track Athlete of the Week award for the second time this season, this occasion coming after Lopez was crowned as the IC4A Champion in the Men's 800 meter run, after coming just .04 seconds away from a personal best time in the outdoor season. Lopez has had a stellar season dating all the way to cross country where he was named to the All-NEC team and also had a great indoor season, taking second in the Men's 800 meter run at Ocean Breeze. 

 Two other Knights were tabbed as Prime Performers in the conference's release, Xavier Hayletts took sixth place in a one-on-one run off at the IC4A Championships, and Laila Davis also placed in the top six in the Women's Weight Throw event, both gaining All-East honors as well as Prime Performers.

These Knights will be on the track next at the Penn Relays, as one of the most historic events in collegiate track and field takes place in Philadelphia this weekend. Action from Franklin Field is set to start on Thursday, April 23rd and go through Saturday April 25th.
