13 Knights Earn All-East Honors at IC4A / ECAC Championships

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - FDU Track and Field had 13 members combined of the Men's and Women's Team earn All-East honors as the Knights competed in the IC4A / ECAC Championships on the campus of Rutgers University this weekend.

On the Men's side, the Knights crowned two IC4A Champions, as sophomore Ethan Ruffin was crowned as the winner in the Men's High Jump, as he leaped a height of 2.16 meters, clearing that bar on the second try to win the event, as he has in almost every competition he has competed in this season.

The other IC4A Champion was Chase Lopez, as Lopez flew around the track, clocking a personal best time of 1:51.34 to win the Men's 800 meter run for the Knights, as he has been terrific this season in the middle distance categories for FDU.

Other Knights were crowned to the All-East team in the field events, as Darien Cade earned that honor in the Men's Weight Throw, as well as Jashad Kersey and Myles Taylor getting the honors in the Men's Triple Jump. Justice Hicks collected a fifth place finish in the Men's Long Jump to cement himself as the fifth Knight to earn All-East honors including Ethan Ruffin

On the track, three more Knights earned All-East honors, including Joshua Gresham in the Men's 400 meter dash, the fastest man in the NEC Xavier Hayletts also earned the honors, winning a one-on-one run off to take the honors in the Men's 100 meter dash. The last member of the FDU men's team to get All-East honors was Kidus Zeleke who earned his spot as one of the best eight in the east in the Men's 10k run.

Four members of the FDU Women's Team found themselves on an All-East list after the weekend ended, the first being Laila Davis, who took sixth place in the Women's Weight Throw, which was enough to earn the All-East distinction. FDU multi Tata Coulibaly ran an impressive time in the 100 meter hurdles to earn the honors, as well as Nya Blades as FDU has two members of the All-East team in the 100 meter hurdles.

Emmanuella Koroma kept her momentum going this outdoor season by finishing in the top eight in the 400 meter hurdles, marking the third Knight to win the honors of All-East in the hurdles sections.
