BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Ava Renninger was named the NEC Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday afternoon. FDU has now won the women's basketball Player of the Week award each of the past five weeks, and in five out of six possible weeks during the 2025-26 season.
Renninger picks up her third weekly honor following a stellar showing against Saint Peter's on Wednesday, December 10. The sophomore led the way for the Knights in a 57-34 win over the Peacocks. Renninger scored a game-high 15 points on three makes from downtown. She also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists in the winning effort.
Renninger also played the first 36 minutes of regulation in the win over Saint Peter's. She was subbed out for the final four minutes of the win, ending a streak of 116 consecutive minutes played for FDU, dating back to the Knights' contest against Monmouth on 11/29.
The sophomore guard has now won the NEC Player of the Week award in three out of six weeks to start the 2025-26 season. It is the fifth time she has been awarded the honor in her career, being named the Player of the Week twice during her freshman campaign in 2024-25. Renninger was named to the NEC Prime Performer list this week as well.
The Knights are back in action on December 20 when they host Ursinus in Hackensack. Tip-off in the Bogota Savings Bank Center will be at 1 p.m, with coverage on NEC Front Row and WFDU.
