BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The NEC announced their latest women's basketball weekly awards on Monday afternoon. The FDU Knights were well-represented, taking home both Player and Rookie of the Week honors. Ava Renninger was named Player of the Week, and Leah Crosby was named Rookie of the Week.
Renninger picked up the Player of the Week award following an outstanding week, helping the Knights go 2-0. The sophomore guard averaged 16.0 PPG, 5.5 APG, and 4.5 RPG in the two wins for FDU. Renninger also knocked down seven threes across the span of the week.
Her week featured an electric 20-point performance to help the Knights to defeat NJIT on the road. Renninger dropped 12 points in the third quarter alone in that victory. Renninger followed up the performance at NJIT with an 18-point outing against Monmouth in which she knocked down four threes. The Yardley, Pa. native has now scored in double digits in every game of the 2025-26 campaign so far.
Leah Crosby was named Rookie of the Week following another stellar week in her freshman campaign. Crosby stuffed the stat-sheet across the Knights two wins during the week. She averaged 8.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.5 SPG, and 0.5 BPG. Crosby started and played 24 minutes in each of the Knights' outings during the week.
The freshman picked up 11 points and five rebounds in FDU's win over Monmouth on November 29, knocking down two threes in the process.
In addition to her Player of the Week award, Renninger was also named an NEC Prime Performer for her efforts.
Renninger, Crosby and the Knights will be back in action on Thursday, December 4. FDU will play host to Lafayette at 7 p.m. Coverage will be available on NEC Front Row.
