STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - FDU Track and Field competed in their final meet before the Winter Break at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon. 23 Knights set new personal best marks in their respective events as FDU built some momentum in the early part of the indoor season.

The day began with four Knights setting new personal bests in the 60 meter dash, as junior
Juline Nwosu led the way for the women, finishing 16th in the race with a time of 7.89 seconds. Behind her was sophomore
Sianna Lloyd who also set a new personal best time of 7.98 seconds. FDU also saw two new personal bests in the Men's 60 meter dash, as
Xavier Hayletts took fourth in the race, running a new personal best 6.83 seconds. Freshman
Joseph Williams also set a new best mark of 7.31 seconds in the event.
Four Knights would also earn new personal records in the mile after the Seahawk Shootout, as
Chase Lopez was the Knights' best runner Saturday afternoon in Staten Island. Lopez ran a new personal best time of 4:16.26, which is the new top mark for the Men's Mile in all of the NEC.
Luis Abreu (4:26.86, 7th) ,
Jalen Goode (4:28.36, 10th) , and
Sam Szczepanski (4:28.07, 9th) all clocked new personal best times in the mile as well.
The FDU field event crew also came in to set a ton of new personal records Saturday, most notably with junior Rilwan Olulande jumping a new personal record height of 1.95 meters to take 9th in the Men's High Jump event, an event that sophomore
Ethan Ruffin won for the second time in as many weekends at Ocean Breeze.
The Knights will next compete after the holiday break on January 10th at the West Point Invitational at Gillis Field House in West Point, N.Y. Action will begin at 12 p.m. from West Point.
