BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – FDU women's basketball sophomore Ava Renninger was named the NEC Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. It is the first Player of the Week honor for Renninger in the 2025-26 season.
The sophomore picks up the honor following a tremendous three-game stretch for the Knights. The point guard stuffed the stat-sheet throughout the week, averaging 20.0 PPG, 6.0 APG, and 4.3 RPG. It was a highly efficient week for Renninger, who shot 57.1% from the field across the week. Renninger also shot a blistering 47.6% from deep.
The Yardley, Pa. native helped the Knights go 2-1 across the past week. FDU picked up wins over Bloomfield and Manhattan. Renninger scored 18 points in the 65-63 win over Manhattan on November 12. The sophomore also dished out eight assists and grabbed six rebounds in the win.
Renninger also helped the Knights impress in a near upset of Rutgers on November 16. She opened up the fourth quarter of play with 11 straight points, helping the Knights tie the game with four minutes to play. Renninger scored 20 points in the hard-fought loss.
Renninger was also named an NEC Prime Performer for her efforts during the week. She was joined by Madlena Gerke in receiving that honor.
