STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – FDU men's and women's track and field had a spectacular day at the 2025 Mets Indoor Championships. The FDU women finished in third place as a team, and the men finished in fourth, each out of 13 schools.
Several Knights had key contributions to help the impressive final standings:
- Nilaja Wiltshire continued a dominant season, shattering a personal record and winning the weight throw with a distance of 17.16m. She also placed second in the shot put with a distance of 14.26m.
- Jayden Ekoko had a remarkable day for FDU. The freshman won the triple jump with a distance of 14.44m. He also finished third in the long jump with a distance of 6.91m, and placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.94m.
- Nya Blades finished third in the 60mH with a time of 9.04.
- The women's distance medley relay, comprising of four freshmen in Gabriela Cardona, Isabel Michel, Briana Reyes, and Kayla Smith, finished in fourth win a time of 13:51.66.
- Taliyah Furtick placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.17m.
- Jade Cruz placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 10.98m. She was followed by Khalia Boyce, who finished fourth with a distance of 10.97m.
- The men's 4x800m relay comprising of Brandon Barreto, Luis Abreu, Trevor Ehrlicher, and Liam Schwabik placed second with a time of 7:56.20.
The Knights' next action will come in the NEC Championships, running from February 16-17.
