Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Knights Sweep Redhawks

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU men's volleyball took their first sweep of the season earlier today in a 3-0 win over Roberts Wesleyan.

Set one saw a well-rounded performance from the Knights, who were firing on all cylinders. Logging 10 kills, two aces, three blocks and 10 digs, the Burgundy and Blue found a consistent rhythm early. Senior Jack Lydon and junior Vinil Shah tallied three kills apiece, leading FDU to a 25-21 set victory.

Defense proved key in set two, as FDU logged five blocks within their first 16 points. Continuing their dominant run, the Knights tallied 11 kills, with junior Dylan McFadden leading the charge at four himself. With only nine kills and eight errors to go with it, the Redhawks struggled to find an answer for a hot hitting FDU squad and dropped set two 20-25.

Continuing the energy into set three, the Knights remained consistent offensively, totaling 14 kills, two aces and four blocks. Lydon logged five kills of his own, followed by Shah who had four. With the upper hand, the Burgundy and Blue took set three 25-17 to take their first sweep of the season.

FDU was led by Lydon, who totaled 11 kills and only two errors for a hitting clip of .529. Senior Mihajlo Rodic led the Knights defensively, tallying four blocks. Making his first career start, Baboloki Prince Silwane dished a career high 30 assists as well as one kill, one block and two digs.

The Knights will be back in action on January 31, as they head to Princeton to take on the Tigers for a 7 p.m. matchup. Action is set to take place in Dillion Gymnasium.
