HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU Head Men's Volleyball Coach Karl France has announced his resignation to pursue other opportunities. France has served as the head coach for five seasons since the inception of the men's volleyball program in 2021.

"To build a program from scratch is hard, and Karl did it with grace," said FDU Senior Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Jason Young. "He bought into being a Knight and was a leader on and off the court. It was a privilege to see our men's volleyball team grow under Karl's guidance, culminating in an NEC Championship appearance this past April. We thank him for his commitment to FDU and wish him luck in his future endeavors."

Under France's leadership, the Knights compiled 50 victories, posting three double-digit win campaigns and earning three NEC tournament appearances. The 2026 campaign marked the most successful season in program history, as FDU won a program-record 14 matches and advanced to its first NEC Championship match.

France coached seven All-NEC selections during his tenure and mentored the program's first major conference award winner, the 2026 NEC Defensive Player of the Year.

A search for FDU's next head men's volleyball coach will begin in the coming weeks.
