Wiltshire Takes First in Shot Put as Knights Compete in Spartan Invite

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – FDU men's and women's track and field competed in the 2025 Spartan Invite on Friday, January 10. The Knights saw a spectacular performance out of Nilaja Wiltshire, who took home first in the shot put with a distance of 14.22m. Wiltshire continues what has been a torrid start to the season, as she took home NEC Field Athlete of the Week following a dominant shot put performance in FDU's previous meet on December 4th. 

It was a great day for the Knights in Staten Island, with a number of athletes finishing high and recording personal bests.

- Tata Coulibaly placed second in the weight throw, recording a personal best distance of 15.40m.
- Brandon Barreto placed third in the 800m, and recorded a personal best in the process with a time of 1:56.95.
- Darien Cade recorded personal bests in both the shot put and weight throw. Cade finished fourth in the shot put with a distance of 14.73m, and eighth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.77m.
- Rilwan Olualande recorded a personal best of 1.93m in the men's high jump, placing fourth.
- Taliyah Furtick recorded a personal best in the triple jump, placing eighth with a distance of 10.79.
- Antoine McNair Jr recorded personal bests in both the long jump and 60m. He recorded a distance of 7.06m in the long jump to finish fourth. McNair Jr recorded a time of 7.06 in the 60m to finish 11th.
- Two Knights recorded personal bests in the men's 400m. Joshua Gresham placed second with a time of 49.38, and Tyler Wise placed 21st with a time of 51.53.
- Two Knights recorded personal bests in the men's 3000m. Luis Abreu placed 19th with a time of 9:01.47, and Kidus Zeleke placed 27th with a time of 9:10.29.
- Isabel Michel recorded a personal best time of 10:42.31 in the women's 3000m to finish in tenth.
- The women's 60m saw two Knights record personal best times. Sianna Lloyd placed 16th with a time of 8.02, and Juline Nwosu finished in 21st with a time of 8.15.
- Xavier Hayletts recorded a personal best in the 200m, finishing 23rd with a time of 22.84.
- Nya Blades recorded a personal best time of 9.15 in the 60m hurdles, finishing fifth.

The Knights will be back in action next week, when they partake in the Gotham Cup on Friday, January 17th.
