NEW BRITAIN, CT – FDU men's and women's track and field completed day one of the NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships earlier today, finishing the day with two wins and a handful of final qualifying times. Senior and 6x All-American
Salif Mane captured the first win of the weekend for the Burgundy and Blue, jumping an impressive 7.62m to collect his third consecutive long jump title. Freshman
Nilaja Wiltshire also took home a first-place finish, winning the women's shot put with a 14.14m mark.

Darien Cade placed ninth in the men's javelin with a personal best mark of 50.87m

Andree Celestin placed ninth in the women's long jump with a 5.28m mark
-Wiltshire finished ninth in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 43.57m

Tele Abe secured spots in the men's 110m hurdles, placing fourth and seventh in prelims

Tata Coulibaly will compete in the 100m hurdles after placing fourth and sixth in prelims

Anthony Massari placed ninth in the men's 400m, just barely missing out on a final qualifying time

Xavier Hayletts placed tenth in the men's 100m with a time of 11.07

Onnieka Rolle will run in the 100m finals after an eighth-place prelims finish

Brandon Barreto placed fourth in the men's 800m prelims, securing a spot in finals tomorrow
The Knights continue NEC Championship action tomorrow (05/05) in New Britain at the CCSU Track. Action is set to begin at 8:30 am.
