Ethan Ruffin to Compete in NCAA East Regional

HACKENSACK, N.J. - FDU sophomore high jumper Ethan Ruffin has officially qualified to compete in the 2026 East Regional for the Outdoor Track and Field season. The event is set to take place in Lexington, Ken. and the Men's High Jump event will commence at 2 p.m. on Friday May 29th. 

Ruffin has been a difference maker this season for the Knights in the High Jump event, as he has racked up three first place finishes including at the NEC Championships as well as the ECAC Championships.

Ruffin has tied his personal record of 2.17 meters, that was originally set in the outdoor season opener at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Ruffin then tied it at the historic Penn Relays, leaping a height of 2.17 meters to take second place at the Penn Relays. 

Ruffin finds himself in the NCAA East Regional for the second straight season, as he competed in the competition last year, leaping a height of 2.05 meters to take 26th place in the East. Ruffin comes into this rendition of the East Regional ranked as the eighth best high jumper in the region.
