Mane Takes Home First Place Finish as Track Participates in Virginia Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – FDU men's and women's track and field completed the Virginia Invitational this past weekend. The Knights saw incredibly tough competition from across the northeast, and had a handful of impressive finishes including a win by 6x All-American Salif Mane in the men's triple jump.
 
-Senior Marie Etong Ntonga placed 12th in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.99m
-Freshman and reigning Rookie and Field Athlete of the Week Nilaja Wiltshire placed tenth in the women's shot put with a mark of 14.53m
-Freshman Trevor Ehrlicher placed 14th in the 3000m steeple with a time of 10:10.07
-Senior Salif Mane won the men's triple jump with an impressive 16.34m mark that places him at fifth in the country
-Senior Ahmed Brown placed 20th in the men's shot put with a mark of 15.16m
 
The Knights look ahead to the NEC Championships, hosted by Central Connecticut on May 4-5.
