TEANECK, N.J. – FDU could not overcome surrendering two goals in the first 124 seconds of their contest against Wagner in what would prove to be a 17-9 loss for the Knights. The loss brings FDU's record to 1-13 overall and 1-7 in the NEC. Wagner improves to 4-3 in the NEC as they continue their chase for a spot in the NEC Championship.
Two key Wagner runs bookended this game. The Seahawks scored the first three goals of the match. The Knights scored the next two but then gave up three right back and never were able to cut the lead down to three or less again. In the fourth quarter, after FDU pulled within four, the Seahawks exploded on a 6-0 run put the game firmly out of reach.
Offensively, the Knights were led by their top two scorers in
Riley Eaton and
Brielle McInaw. Each put together a three-goal performance and they both sit at 23 goals on the season. McInaw stuffed the stat sheet with three draw controls, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
Jordan Santana's 13 game goal streak came to an end, but she did pick up an assist to extend her point streak to 14.
Kendal Hippert scooped up six ground balls, a career-high, and caused one turnover.
