NEW BRITAIN, Conn.- A slow start slipped up FDU in a 11-9 loss under rain-filled skies at Central Connecticut on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils jumped out to a 3-0 start and never looked back in a game that drops FDU's record to 1-9, 1-5.
Â
Brielle McInaw tallied a season-high four goals to lead FDU's offense in the contest. She was joined by
Karly Dillabough,
Riley Eaton, and
Jordan Santana in the scoring column. Santana has scored in every game this year.
Â
Blue Devils' goalkeeper Kya Risher was a key for Central Connecticut making 12 saves on 21 shots faced.
Â
After trailing early, the Knights cut the lead to 7-6 in the third before the Blue Devils cashed in on four unanswered insurance goals. This provided enough cushion for them to close out the game.
Â
FDU failed to record a free position goal off seven free position shots.
Â
Turnovers were very even with the Knights coughing it up just two more times than the Blue Devils with 26 total for the game. CCSU also held a slight edge in draw controls.Â
