Knights Travel to North Andover to Take on Merrimack

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights will return to action on Thursday, February 29 to take on the Merrimack Warriors at Bert Hammel Court in North Andover, Massachusetts. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

HOW TO WATCH
Fans can stream all the action on NEC Front Row.

LAST TIME OUT
The Knights took on Le Moyne in their last home game of the regular season that resulted in a 70-60 loss for FDU. Teneisia Brown led FDU with 19 points and eight rebounds. The burgundy and Blue saw opportunity in the first half to outscore the Dolphins 32-25 Despite having a seven-point lead coming into the second half, Le Moyne was able to close that deficit in the third quarter outscoring the Knights 19-12, knotting the game going into the final period. Despite shooting 46.67% from the floor, the Knights were only able to land 2-9 shots from three. This resulted in the Knights loss of 70-60.

BALANCED SCORING
The Knights saw three of their players score in double-figures: Teneisia Brown (19), Lilly Parke (15) and Staci Williams (13).

BEHIND ENEMY LINES
The Warriors enter this game with an overall record of 11-15 and sit 8-5 in conference play. In their last game, Merrimack came away victorious over Saint Francis U by a score of 72-57. In their 26 games this season, Merrimack is averaging 59.3 points and just under 39 rebounds per game.

SCOUT'S CORNER
The Knights will be keyed in on the Warriors Jayme DeCesare and Amaya Stanton. DeCesare leads Merrimack with 284 total points and is averaging 10.9 per game. Stanton has been a force off the glass for the Warriors with 134 total rebounds and averaging 6.7 per game.

PACING THE SIDELINES
Kelly Morrone, now in her fourth season as head coach of Merrimack, led the Warriors to a 10-6 record in the NEC last season. This was good enough for a third-place finish and set them up for their first-ever postseason win in Merrimack's Division I era. Morrone earned her playing stripes at South Carolina, where she sits third all-time in program history in three-point percentage and three-pointers made.

MATCHUP HISTORY
The Knights have enjoyed success against the Warriors since the Massachusetts' program joined the NEC. FDU holds the all-time series advantage 7-2 and have won all seven of those games in consecutive fashion. This has included five-straight wins at home dating back to 2021.
