Knights Make Statement Win as They Topple LIU, 84-53

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights took on the LIU Sharks in a thrilling battle that resulted in an 84-53 Knights victory. With this game, FDU improves to 7-3 in NEC play and 9-14 overall.

FDU shot just under 45% from the floor and went 14-31 (45.2%) from three. Continuing this trend of improved offense, the Knights had four scorers in double-figures: Teneisia Brown (21), Lilly Parke (15), Staci Williams (12) and Abby Conklin (11).

FDU found steady production in the first quarter that led to a 17-point run for the Knights and helped them close out the quarter with a 19-point lead. Conklin led the period with nine points and was closely followed by Brown with eight.

The Knights were able to continue the trend of double-digit leads in the second quarter as they were able to outscore the Sharks 23-9. Parke dialed in for two shots from deep and Brown capitalized on her trips to the charity stripe as she went 4-4 from the line. With the Knights' strong first half, they went into halftime with a 47-14 lead over LIU.

Coming out of the break, Brown didn't miss a beat as she led the Knights with seven more points in the third. Williams found her range from deep as she connected on two triples. FDU continued to shine on offense as they outscored LIU 20-16 and continued to tack onto their substantial lead.

Despite the Sharks' last-minute attempts to take control of the game, they ultimately couldn't shake the Knights as FDU came away with an 84-53 victory.

Teneisia Brown was a power player for the Knights tonight where she recorded her seventh double-double of the season. The senior forward/center logged a season-high 21 points along with ten rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Brown went 8-11 from the floor and shot 100% (5-5) from the line.

In the final quarter, FDU saw all 17 of their points come from their reserves.
