Knights to Take on NEC Foe Sacred Heart in Road Game

HACKENSACK, N.J. – Fresh off a win against Central Connecticut, the FDU Knights (6-13, 4-2) look to continue their winning ways in a Saturday matchup at Sacred Heart (11-9, 5-1). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT 
Powered by a career-high 33 points from Lilly Parke, the Knights were able to topple the Central Connecticut Blue Devils by a score of 80-75. Going into the half, FDU trailed by two but were quick to come out on top following the break as they were able to outscore the Blue Devils 19-10 in the third giving them a seven-point lead as the fourth started. Central Connecticut was able to fight their way back late in the fourth to tie the game with a buzzer beater triple to send the game into overtime. At the end of regulation, the score was knotted at 63-63. As overtime started, the Knights were able to gain a four-point lead that the Blue Devils could not find an answer to and the Knights were able to close out the game with an 80-75 victory over Central Connecticut. This win marked the Knights third-straight win.

BALANCED SCORING
The Knights have had three or more scorers in double-figures for five straight games. In their last outing against the Blue Devils, Lilly Parke (33), Abaigeal Babore (16), Teneisia Brown (13), and Abby Conklin (11) led the charge. 

DOUBLE OR NOTHING
Teneisia Brown keeps the train rolling as she logged her sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds off the glass. 

45 FIGHTING
The Knights had two players log all 45 minutes of playing time in their game against Central Connecticut: Abaigeal Babore and Abby Conklin. Conklin currently leads the conference in minutes per game. 

BEHIND ENEMY LINES
The Pioneers enter this contest with an overall record of 11-9 and sit 5-1 in conference play. They came away with a 70-55 victory over LIU in their previous game. In their 20 games this season, Sacred Heart is averaging just under 63 points per contest and just over 36 rebounds.

SCOUT'S CORNER 
The Pioneers have found steady production in Ny'Ceara Pryor and Amelia Wood. Pryor, the reigning NEC Player of the Year, averages 17.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. The sophomore guard also totaled 87 assists and 67 steals on the season. Wood averages ten points and 5.6 rebounds per game. 

PACING THE SIDELINES
Jessica Mannetti, now in her 11th season as head coach of Sacred Heart led the Pioneers to their first NEC tournament title since 2012 last season. After clinching the NEC title last season, she led the program to their first NCAA tournament victory in program history against Southern University. 

MATCHUP HISTORY
The Knights have faced the Pioneers 46 times, but Sacred Heart ultimately holds the series at 35-11. 

WHAT'S NEXT 
FDU will return to action in a road game at LIU on February 1. The Thursday night tilt is set for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on NEC Front Row.
