AUSTIN, Texas - All-American
Salif Mane will represent FDU men's track and field Friday, June 9 as the senior takes part in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the second-consecutive season. Mane earned qualification to the NCAA Regional in Jacksonville in both long jump and triple jump, finishing third in triple jump with a mark of 16.27m to punch his ticket to Austin.
Mane, the national runner-up in triple jump in the indoor season, is a three-time All-American for the Knights, twice earning First Team All-American honors in the indoor season, followed by a Second Team finish outdoors last year.
The Bronx, N.Y. product's signature event will get underway at 9:10 p.m. ET (8:10 p.m. CT) on Friday live on ESPN2 and ESPN+ from the Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium (Hosted by Texas) as Mane looks to become the Knights' third NCAA individual outdoor champion and the first since 1981 (Solomon Chebor, Steeplechase). FDU's outdoor program record in the triple jump is held by Mane and was set at the Virginia Challenge this season as he uncorked a jump of 16.54m in Charlottesville.
