Randall's Island, NY- FDU Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams headed over the Hudson and Harlem to Randall's Island in New York City for the Metropolitan Championships Meet, and both teams recorded impressive performances, including a new school record in the men's 4x100 meter relay.
- The FDU men's 4x100 team, consisting of Taeco O'Garro, Malik Ricketts, Daniel Chambers, and Salif Mane, placed second behind Columbia and set a new school record with a time of 41.09, breaking the previous record of 41.42 set in 2019.
- Kenroy Ellis placed second in the 400-Meter Hurdles, setting a personal record of 54.94, shaving off 0.34 seconds from his previous record.
- The men's 4x400 team, made up of Kenroy Ellis (47.85), Malik Ricketts (51.07), Daniel Chambers (52.03), and Conroy Ellis (48.29), finished first with a time of 3:19.23.
- Tahj Mullings placed second in the Discus throw with a mark of 46.76 and then third in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 50.45.
- Junior Andree Celestin ran a personal best of 14.97 in the preliminaries of the 100 hurdles and then placed second in the finals with a time of 15.18.
- Freshman Marie Etong Ntonga placed fourth in the Triple Jump with her leap of 11.08 meters.
- Senior Tricia Phillips beat her outdoor personal best by 10 seconds, finishing the 800-meter race in 2:19.
- Senior Cassandra Meyer shaved 16 seconds off her personal best time in the 5000-meter race, finishing in 20:07.
Next weekend both the Men's and Women's teams head to Princeton NJ to compete as the Princeton Tigers host the Larry Ellis Invitational at Weaver Stadium on the 14th and 15th.
