HACKENSACK, N.J. – The FDU Knights (18-6, 10-2) will take on the Wagner Seahawks (12-11, 7-5) Saturday afternoon at Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center. The Knights will be recognizing the senior class for their outstanding dedication to the programs; the players being recognized will be
Dahomée Forgues,
Sierra DeAngelo,
Celia Carbonell, and
Madeline Selvaggi. Other members who will be recognized will be four-year practice squad player Mayowa Akindebe and Team Impact player,
Josephine Senek . This conference battle will take place at 4 p.m. and Knights fans can watch the game on ESPN 3 and SNY.
The Knights played a solid three quarters before struggling in the fourth quarter of play. In the first 30 minutes, FDU did not shoot worse than 50% in a quarter and held on to a 61-54 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of play. The dominating 30 minutes of play held up due to terrific shooting from the field and from behind the arc. The Knights could not miss early in the game. The fourth quarter was a different story for the Knights who shot only 1-for-10 in the quarter and were held to just six points. The Pioneers outscored the Knights 16-6 on their way to the number one seed in the conference. FDU was led by
Chloe Wilson who had a big game posting her fifth double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Wilson's dominating performance comes one game after she dropped a career-high 32 at CCSU on Saturday. The Knights got solid secondary scoring out of
Sierra DeAngelo and
Celia Carbonell who scored 20 points combined.
- Wilson leads the Knights with 16.7 points a night and 6.7 rebounds. She has picked up five double-doubles on the season and is coming off a 29-point outing last time out
- Senior DeAngelo has had a solid season scoring 11.6 points a night on a team-leading 46.5% shooting from the field
- Forgues has entered double-digit point scoring on the season averaging 10.1 points a contest
- SHU is 12-11 on the season and they have picked up seven conference wins
- Redshirt junior guard, Alex Cowan is a player to watch for the Seahawks. She is scoring 13.8 points a night on 37.8% shooting from the field
- Head coach Terrell Coburn is in his second season as head coach of Wagner
