HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU faced Bloomfield in a mid-week contest that resulted in a Knights victory over the Bears of 86-38. With this win, the Knights improve their record to 2-7 and look to gain momentum as they leave the banks of Hackensack for a two game away stint.
INSIDE THE BOX
- The Knights had four players score double digit figures: Teneisia Brown (15), Abby Conklin (15), Jada Elston (10), and Lilly Parke (10).
- Rebecca Osei-Owusu had a career high of eight off the glass.
- FDU shot 34-for-72 from the field (47.2%) and 13-for-29 (44.8%) from beyond the arc.
- The Knights were able to produce 43 (50%) of their points from the bench.
1st QUARTER
Freshman forward
Bella Toomey made her first career start for FDU as the Knights came off the bench on fire as they jumped out with an early lead over the Bears at 12-2 as
Abby Conklin and
Lilly Parke ignited the offense with threes each within the first half of the quarter. Conklin dialed in two more from downtown and finished the first quarter going three-for-three from beyond the arc. Parke collected four off the glass and contributed seven points as the Knights closed out the quarter with an intimidating 26-4 lead.
2nd QUARTER
Starting the quarter, the Knights struck as
Nickie Carter and Conklin landed back-to-back buckets extending their lead by 25 early in the second.
Teneisia Brown and Carter logged five points each. The Bears kept pace with the Knights but fell short as their first quarter struggles set them back as FDU closed the half leading 41-16.
3rd QUARTER
FDU came out hot as they continued their dominance on the court starting the third. Carter nailed a three that led to FDU outscoring Bloomfield 21-4 as a timeout was taken with just under five minutes to play in the quarter. The Bears couldn't seem to find an answer to the Knights intimidating offense as FDU led at the end of the third 66-25.
Mia Andrews made her first basket of the season and
Abaigeal Babore, coming back from an injury, logged three points in her return to the court in this period.
4th QUARTER
Freshman guard
Jada Elston played all 10 minutes of the final quarter and logged her first career points as she tacked on 10 points for the Knights in her home debut. Elston opened the final quarter with a shot from deep and continued her push for the Knights as she shot 3-for-4 from the field.
Dominique García Blackwood made her home debut for the Knights as she sunk two shots from the floor and collected her first points of the season. The Burgundy and Blue finalized the game with an 86-38 victory over Bloomfield.

The Knights will be on the road for a two-game stint that will start this Saturday, Dec. 9 against Maryland Eastern Shore. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and will be available for streaming on Delmarva Sport Network.
