Broncs Slated to Meet Knights Sunday in Stratis

HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU continues their five-game homestand against Rider on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Knights are aiming to snap a five-game losing streak in front of their home crowd at Stratis Arena in Hackensack, N.J.

LAST TIME OUT  

The Knights last saw the court on Wednesday against Mount St. Mary's (Md.). The Mountaineers handled the Knights in a 64-50 victory. FDU shot 15-for-49 (30.6%) from the field in part thanks a to a 17-point performance from their bench. The Burgundy and Blue did most of their work interiorly with 24-paint points. Teneisia Brown recorded her first double-double with the Knights as she put up 13 points and collected 10 rebounds in the contest.
 

IRON-WOMAN

Senior guard Abby Conklin has played in all 40 minutes of the last three games for the Knights in their contests against Bucknell, Georgetown and Mount St. Mary's. Collectively, she has scored 30 points in these three games averaging 10 points per game, pulling in a total of six steals and 12 rebounds and has shot 6-for-8 from the foul line. Over this stretch, the senior guard has scored 30 points and knocked down eight threes. She has also been a force defensively with six steals.  
 

ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO CHARITY

The Knights have gotten to the free throw line 24.5 times on average over the last two games and have sunk 34-of-49 (69.4%) attempts. Teneisia Brown and Lilly Parke have gone 14-for-19 combined at the line over this course. 
 

BEHIND ENEMY LINES  

This game marks the Broncs' sixth game of the season where they are hoping to improve upon their 2-3 record. In their last contest, Rider fell to La Salle 72-44. The Broncs are averaging 53.8 points per game on 35.4% from the floor. Rider is also shooting 28--96 (29.2%) from downtown.
 

SCOUT'S CORNER  

The Knights will be keyed in on Rider's Taylor Langan and Makayla Firebaugh. Langan is shooting 44.4% from the floor and has already collected 33 rebounds and six steals. FDU will also be tuned into Firebaugh, who shoots 36.8% from deep, as they look to minimize her damage from beyond the arc. 
 

PACING THE SIDELINES  

Lynn Milligan is in her 17th season as head coach of Rider. Milligan has a career record of 199-292 leading the Broncs. 


LAST TIME

FDU and Rider have faced each other 24 times previously. The Broncs hold a slim 13-11 lead in the series. Rider won the last meeting, which took place in 2011. 
 

WHAT'S NEXT

You can catch FDU women's basketball in action on Wednesday, November 29th at home against NJIT. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and will air on YES Network live from Stratis Arena in Hackensack, N.J. The Knights will be holding a teddy bear toss at half-time, so be sure to bring a teddy bear and come out to support.
