QUARTER 1
FDU came out sizzling from downtown. Threes from
Abaigeal Babore, Conklin, and Parke gave the Knights an early 11-7 edge. After cooling down a bit, FDU surrendered their lead and the Bison were able to gain 14-13 advantage. With 25 seconds remaining in the period,
Teneisia Brown picked up some loose change off the offensive glass and put back in a layup to give the Knights a 15-14 lead at the end of one.
QUARTER 2
Conklin continued to remain hot from deep. The guard connected on two more go-ahead threes to put the Knights back on top after Bucknell had taken the lead twice. The Bison did start to dial in their own range as they hit three three-pointers to give them a 27-25 lead at the half.
QUARTER 3
Bella Toomey started to assert herself immediately at the beginning of the second half. After forcing a turnover, she bodied her way into a made field goal that put FDU back ahead 29-28. The Bison would go on to answer but back-to-back layups from Toomey and Brown erased a three-point deficit and put FDU on top 34-33. Unfortunately, the Bison were able to steal momentum back and sink a buzzer-beating three that gave Bucknell a 36-34 lead heading into the final frame.
QUARTER 4
The first points of the fourth quarter came courtesy of a Brown floater that knotted the game at 36-36. After the game was tied at 38-38, Bucknell utilized a 5-0 spurt to take a two-possession lead with just over two minutes remaining. The Knights cut the lead to three twice, but never any closer, as solid free-throw shooting helped the Bison seal the 49-44 victory. FDU never found their offensive footing in the fourth, going 0-6 from deep and committing a costly turnover with 36 seconds to go.
