WASHINGTON, D.C. – The FDU Knights fell to the Georgetown Hoyas by a score of 60-45 in the nation's capital on Friday night. The Knights drop to 0-4, while the Hoyas improve to 3-1.
NOTABLE NAMES
- Teneisia Brown piled on the points putting 12 on the board, going 6-for-7 from the line and collected four rebounds.
- Lilly Parke put up 11 points, thanks to a 5-for-6 night from the line and contributed three rebounds.
- Bella Toomey was an asset on the defensive side of the ball, where she pulled in five rebounds.
QUARTER 1
- Nickie Carter put FDU on the board first with a triple that put the Knights up 3-0.
- Wilma Sorensen was inserted off the bench and immediately cashed in, going 3-for-3 at the foul line pushing the Knights ahead 9-5.
- With multiple last-minute second-chance points, Georgetown cut the deficit down, but FDU still held a 13-12 lead at the end of the quarter.
QUARTER 2
- Carter and Abby Conklin scored six of the eight second quarter points for the Knights with a pair of triples.
- Georgetown's Alex Cowan led the Hoyas in the quarter with eight points, going 3-for-4 from the floor and adding two rebounds.
- The Knights trailed 30-21 at the break.
QUARTER 3
- The Knights went 2-16 from the floor in the frame.
- Georgetown capitalized on their struggles and extended their lead to 16 at 43-27.
QUARTER 4
- Despite being outscored in the fourth quarter 18-17, Georgetown was able to hold on to their lead, while shooting 39.3% from the field.
- The Knights did cut a 20-point deficit down to 13, but their efforts would come up short as the Hoyas closed out a 60-45 win.
