BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -In a positive week for the FDU women's soccer team, Marie Jakobsen emerged as a standout player, earning accolades as the NEC Defensive Player of the Week and Co-Rookie of the Week for her performances. Jakobsen's exceptional performances showcased her skill in net as she helped keep a clean sheet in both matches this past week. 

Throughout the week's matches, Jakobsen displayed an impressive command of the game solidifying her role as a key defensive asset for FDU. In the Stonehill encounter, Jakobsen rose to the challenge making seven critical saves and thwarting every attempt that came her way. Her ability to read the game and anticipate opponents' moves allowed her to confidently command her 18-yard box. Jakobsen's fearlessness was evident as she threw herself into the line of fire making incredible saves that secured FDU's victory against Stonehill.

In the pivotal Sunday match against SFU, Jakobsen's brilliance continued to shine. While facing fewer shots, she remained vigilant making two crucial saves. It was her game-saving fingertip save in the dying moments of the match that truly demonstrated her talent and composure under pressure. This singular moment highlighted not only her technical prowess but also her mental fortitude, ensuring the Knights' lead remained intact.

Beyond her on-field achievements, Jakobsen's impact extended to her role as a team leader. Her effective communication and guidance on the field were instrumental in the team's coordinated defensive efforts.
