HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Knights (12-4, 4-0) are back in action tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. as they take on St. Francis Brooklyn (4-12, 3-1). Thursday's matchup will be only the second time in NEC history that a regular season women's basketball game will be on ESPNU or a higher channel. The first of such matchups came last season when FDU defeated Mount St. Mary's on ESPNU 64-56. The Knights are looking to start NEC play with a 5-0 record and extend their winning streak to six games.
FDU hosted Stonehill on Monday afternoon in a matchup that was never close. The Burgundy and Blue won 70-36. The victory was backed by a strong performance from junior,
Chloe Wilson. Wilson posted her third double-double of the season with 21 points on 6-of-14 shooting and 10 rebounds. The scoring behind Wilson was a balanced attack with
Celia Carbonell and
Ella Fajardo posting nine points apiece and
Sierra DeAngelo and
Dahomée Forgues netting seven points each. The blueprint for the Knights season has been to play suffocating defense and to hit timely threes. Against the SkyHawks the Knights forced 16 turnovers and drilled eight threes on 35% shooting from deep.
- Wilson leads the Knights with 15.7 points a night and 6.6 rebounds. She has picked up three double-doubles on the season, including last time out versus Stonehill
- Senior DeAngelo has had a solid season scoring 11 points a night on a team-leading 45.2% shooting from the field
- Fifth-year guard Madeline Selvaggi stuffs the stat sheet every game averaging nine rebounds and nearly four assists a night for the last three games
- The Terriers are 4-12 on the year, but have had a solid start to conference play with a 3-1 record
- St. Francis gets almost 25 points a night from their starting backcourt
- Guard Alyssa Fisher is a player to watch for the Terriers, she is averaging 15.8 points a game and leads the team in steals
- Head coach Linda Cimino is in her 5th season at the helm at St. Francis
