HACKENSACK, NJ. - FDU Knights Cheer Team announced that as of the Fall 2022 semester they will now be a competitive cheer program. The Competitive Cheer program will operate under FDU Athletics starting in the 2022-2023 season.
Led by longtime FDU Cheer Coach Crystal Simmons, the Knights will compete nationally in Daytona at the NCA College Nationals. In addition to competition, cheerleaders will continue to lead the atmosphere at all men's and women's basketball games in Stratis Arena.
A stunt and recruitment clinic will be held in Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center on Saturday, April 23rd from 1pm - 4pm. This clinic is open to high school students in grades 9-12 as well as current college students. The cost of the clinic will be $20.
"I'm excited about the new competitive cheer program, and the future of FDU Metropolitan Cheer", said Coach Simmons. "I have been waiting for this day to arrive, and I'm thankful for the support of athletics and the university to lead this program."
