STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Salif Mane topped his indoor triple jump FDU program record on Friday as the Knights competed at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships at Ocean Breeze Complex.

How it Happened

Salif Mane recorded first place finishes in both the triple jump and long jump, securing the top spot in the NEC for both events. With a 16.07m mark, Mane surpassed his triple jump record from the NYC Gotham Cup and recorded the seventh furthest jump in the nation. The sophomore also landed the top spot for the long jump with a 7.12m mark.Â

Ben Clay III dominated in the throwing events, earning a gold in the shot put with a 16.07m mark and a silver in the weight throw with a 17.52m mark. Dominykas Cepys followed in third place with a 14.54m mark in the weight throw.

Freshman Malik Ricketts recorded a personal record in the 500m race with a 1:04.52 finish to land first place. Ricketts currently holds the second-best time in the NEC for this event.

With a first-place finish of his own, Shevan Parks recorded a 1:55.50 time in the 800m race for the sixth best time in the NEC this season.

With a 22.32 time, Ako Hislop finished fourth in the men's 200m along with a fifth place finish in the 60m with a 7.07 time.Â

Duran Crooks recorded a personal record in the 400m dash with a 49.72 finish. With this time, Crooks notched fourth place in the race.

The Knights return to competition on Friday as the team splits to attend the Rutgers Open and Fasttrack National Invitational.
