SOMERSET, NJ. - Ben Clay III secured NEC Field Athlete of the Week honors following a personal record at the Rutgers Open this weekend, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

The senior from Richmond, VA. surpassed his shot put personal record with a mark of 17.69m on his first throw. With this mark, Clay clinched first place in the championship portion of the meet.

Clay also holds the top spot for shot put mark in the NEC, surpassing the second place spot by 1.31m.
