Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats sit with a 3-2 record and look forward to playing their first game following the Thanksgiving holiday. The Bearcats thrashed Mansfield University, 104-45, and have also managed victories over NCAA Division I foes Siena and Canisius. Binghamton's Birna Benonysdottir has made an impact in her first two games of the season, including scoring 27 points on a 10-for-15 shooting night against Mansfield. Clare Traeger is the scoring leader amongst Bearcats who have seen action in every game, averaging 14.4 points along with 8.6 rebounds per game. Denai Bowman, who was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team, also averages double-figure scoring with 10.8 points along with four assists and 2.2 steals per game.
Scouting the Knights
The Knights are coming off of a hard-fought loss at Manhattan this past Sunday, where the Jaspers won by a score of 69-55. The Knights were down by as few as four points with just minutes to play, having clawed back from being down by 19 in the third quarter, but the valiant comeback efforts fell just a touch short despite 14 points from Aniya Bell and 13 points, nine rebounds and two blocks from Madison Stanley. The Knights still have a pair of big, double-digit, victories fresh in their mind, having topped Cornell on the road by over 30 points and NJIT at home by ten points. Leading the way in scoring for the Knights is NEC Prime Performer of Week 3, sophomore Chloe Wilson, who scored a career-high 24 points against NJIT and is currently averaging 13 points and 5.3 rebounds per game along with just shy of two steals per game on the defensive end. The Knights continue to shoot it well from deep with Dahomée Forgues and Celia Carbonell both shooting exactly 50% from long distance.
What's Next
The Knights will take a weeklong break between games as they host Delaware State in their next game on Wednesday, December 7, at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on NEC Front Row.
