Chrzanowski Earns NEC Bowler of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson junior bowler Amanda Chrzanowski garnered Northeast Conference Bowler of the Week honors for the second time this year on Wednesday, as announced by the league office.

The Schenectady, N.Y., native led the Knights this past weekend at the Prairie View A&M Invitational by averaging a team-high 20.48 pins per frame while playing in all 132 frames. Going against the top-8 teams in the country in addition to two more ranked opponents, Chrzanowski finished with team-highs of 71 strikes and 41 spares, filling 86.4 percent of her frames for the entire weekend. The junior also doubled on 50 percent (15-of-30) of her Baker double attempts, where she filled 82 percent of her frames and recorded 40 strikes in 72 frames.

Chrzanowski, however, really excelled in the traditional matches, filling 88.3 percent of her frames and striking on 31 of 60 attempts while finishing with a 206.7 pins per game average to place in the top-15 in the individual standings at 11th. She rolled a single-game high of 229 against no. 7 NC A&T, one of four games where she totaled at least 200 pins.

The junior helped FDU defeat four ranked teams, including no. 3 Nebraska, no. 6 UMES and no. 18 Wisconsin-Whitewater in the first day of Baker qualifying, and then also bowled a game of 213 to help the Knights defeat no. 25 Prairie View A&M.

For the season, Chrzanowski leads FDU with a 20.02 pins per frame average and a 85.4 percent fill rate in 212 traditional team match frames, and she is second on the Knights with 216 strikes in 471 overall attempts. She has converted 67 percent of her spares, including 78 percent of makeable spare attempts, and also stakes a 45.9 percent rate at doubling in Baker matches (45-of-98 attempts).

The junior was previously named NEC Bowler of the Week on November 13 for her efforts in the NEC Fall Meet.

The 17th-ranked Knights (35-28), who maintained their ranking in the latest NTCA top-25 national poll release, competes again this weekend at the Chestnut Hill Baker Classic beginning Friday, February 7, and continuing through Sunday, February 9, at Berks Lanes in Reading, Pa.
