Knights Surge to Third Place on Final Day of Mount Shootout

MOUNT JOY, Pa. – The FDU women's bowling team competed at the Mount Shootout this weekend in Pennsylvania. The Knights captured victories in all three of their matches on the final day to finish the weekend 9-4 and earn third place.

Day one consisted of three wins and two losses in the baker total pinfall format. The Knights started hot with a season-high 1124 pins knocked down in a win over Wagner. They followed that up with wins over Bryant and Howard. FDU knocked down over 1000 pins in all three matches.

On day two, FDU knocked down over 1000 pins in four of their five matches in the traditional round. This led to wins over Morgan State, Mount St. Mary's and Alvernia. The Knights earned the crucial victory over Alvernia on the last match of the day, following a loss to Duquesne, to put themselves in an improved position on day three.

Day three began with a thrilling 4-3 baker match play win over Bryant. The Knights recorded 279 pins in the first game of the match. Next, FDU took down UMES 4-1. This put FDU in the third-place match, which meant a rematch with Duquesne.  The Knights overcame a 3-2 deficit and went onto win the match 4-3.
