ARLINGTON, Texas – The 17th-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson women's bowling team remained in ninth place after playing five traditional matches in the second day of the Prairie View A&M Invitational.
The Knights (34-26) knocked down almost 80 more pins than in the previous day of competition but dropped four of their five matches, scoring their lone win against host Prairie View A&M, 1040-1008, in their best overall pin fall output of the day. FDU faced five ranked opponents in its five matches, with each loss coming to a team currently ranked in the top-8 in the NTCA national poll. Three of FDU's four losses were decided by less than 30 pins.
Juniors
Jenna Henderson and
Amanda Chrzanowski each started all five matches, with Chrzanowski leading the team with a 205.6 pins per game average and Henderson averaging 192.4 pins per game. Junior
Aimee Sherman and senior

"Today we unfortunately weren't able to maintain our level of play from yesterday," head coach
Mike LoPresti said. "We lost three close matches and we have no one to blame but ourselves. At the same time, we battled to the end of the day and our intensity never diminished. The fight within us will propel us tomorrow."
The Knights started their day with a very close match against no. 5 Vanderbilt but dropped the match 911-904. Henderson (193) and Sherman (192) led FDU in scoring, with Chrzanowski also contributing a 185 and senior

The three juniors again paced the FDU scoring in the second match against no. 4 Arkansas State, with Henderson leading with 214, Sherman one pin back at 213 and Chrzanowski adding a score of 198. Hart (178) and sophomore
Lanasia Neal (173) also started for the Knights, with freshman
Ashley Sham subbing in for Neal in the 10th frame to try to push a late rally. Arkansas State, however, knocked down just enough pins to earn a close 1009-976 win.
